Microair Avionics Presents Small Gear At Innovation Preview

Avionics Suite Spawns New Pitot Probe

David Withers, owner and CEO of Brisbane, Australia-based Microair Avionics, discussed new products being introduced after making very small, lightweight radios and transponders for the light aircraft market the past 26 years and seeing 25,000 units flying worldwide, 15,000 in the U.S.

Withers explained that a few years ago Microair decided to reinvent the company’s entire line of products and at the 2024 EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, introduced its new T3000 SkySuite. The company shrank the radio and transponder to a third of their size and combined them into a complete avionics suite that Withers said is selling very well.

The revamp of the avionics led to a standalone product not part of the original core package, the T3000PSP Digital Static, and AoA Probe with an integrated air data computer and AHARS or Attitude and Heading Reference System. It can replace any AN5812 Pitot Probe with no extra plumbing or hardware needed and comes with a data harness or an optional installation kit.

The T3000PSP provides airspeed, altitude, vertical speed, angle of attack, outside air temperature, attitude, and magnetic heading, all are displayed on one or more T3000 SkySuite instrument displays. It features a 120W anti-icing heating system with digital temperature control for optimal performance in all conditions. It is available for either 12 or 24 volt electrical systems.

The T3000PSP can be used as a Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment or NORSEE backup air data system with AoA and AHARS in certified aircraft.
