Sportys Flight Training Courses Revamped

2022 Updates Now Offering TV Apps, Audio Courses, Test Prep, and CFI Cloud Coordination

Sporty's Pilot Shop has released their newest version of their flight training ground school courses, updated and enhanced for a more widespread training regimen. Improved test preparation software helps students ace the written tests for their ratings, while improved CFI integration helps keep track of milestones and objectives.

The Sporty's online library now contains over 20 aviation courses, compatible with phones, tablets, and TV's. Made to give structure and quality to home-study ground school, the courses are designed to take the student past the point of their written test with a complete education for the rating, not just the required minimum. With expensive ground training rates, the investment in self-study is often money well spent for students.

Sporty's touts its new integration of multiple smart TV platforms, allowing full resolution, full-size learning for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android, and Chromecast TV platforms. Progress syncs between devices, so students can accurately track their place in the program without repeating material. The TV version includes the same interactive review segments and quizzes, making sure students retain the most important points of each piece.

Most interesting for the podcast-addicted students, an option in each segment to listen to an audio-only version is available. Whether it's extra passes over a difficult section of coursework, memorization, or background noise while commuting, the option is great for students on-the-go who can't afford to burn the battery, or the data, on mobile video. A seldom-appreciated bonus is the complete transcript for each, helpful for ESL students or textual learners.

Knowledge test prep is often the main draw of online flight training, so Sporty's has revamped their study regimen to improve outcomes and information retention.

Calling it their PowerStudy toolkit, which include advanced study modes that custom-tailor the session to each student's learning pace, complete study history that focuses on weak areas, and the ability to create custom quizzes based on past sessions. Once complete, Sporty's will give students the required endorsement for the FAA test.

Addressing one downside of online ground school, Sporty's added an instructor portal to act as a central point to coordinate study materials, pacing, and test results. CFI's can track multiple students' progression, as well as view the course content so lesson prep can be coordinated between flight and ground training.
