FAA Needs Your Help To Select 25 Leaders To Serve On Committee

The FAA announced that the application period for the Bessie Coleman Women in Aviation Advisory Committee is now open, and 25 successful applicants will be selected to serve on the committee.

Members of the committee will range from aviation specialists and experts to business leaders, and the FAA is asking for your help to spread the word and encourage people to apply.

The Bessie Coleman Women in Aviation Advisory Committee was established to honor the women in aviation history who played a part in revolutionizing not just aviation but the role of all women in aviation who challenged social norms to become part of the adventure.

The committee will be tasked with promoting the recruitment, training, education, employment, retention, career advancement, and overall well-being of women in the aviation industry as well as women in aviation-related or -focused civil service positions. Additionally the committee will work to continue the legacy of innovators like Bessie Coleman who transformed their disciplines within aviation.

Members will leverage their experiences and talents to develop innovative ideas and recommendations. Encouraging a diverse range of voices to contribute to the conversation but help drive the success of the committee.

This is a valuable opportunity to help shape the future of girls and women in the aviation industry, so you are encouraged to join the movement to address the opportunities and needs to help drive positive changes in the industry.
