Lycoming Announces Formation of New Advanced Technology Center

Separate R&D Arm In Southern Pennsylvania

Lycoming Engines has formed a new advanced technology center (ATC) located in Williamsport, PA.  Lycoming created the center as a separate unit of its specialized research and development operations. The company hopes it will leverage its capabilities in program management and other technologies to increase efficiencies in future aviation power plants. 

"We are thrilled to highlight and enhance our research and development capabilities through the formation of our advanced technology center" said Dennis Racine, Lycoming director of marketing and customer leadership. "This unit will be our test-bed to leverage our internal capabilities in program management, metallurgy and other power plant technology for all aviation applications."  

Lycoming ATC began taking orders on April 1, and is expected to announce further developments to the center later this year.
