Flight School Ass’n Holding 4th Annual DPE Symposium

Convenes DPEs, Operators, Chief Instructors, FAA

The Flight School Association of North America announced its 4th Annual Designated Pilot Examiners Symposium, to be held November12-14, 2025, in Irving, Texas.

It brings together DPEs, flight school operators, chief flight instructors, and FAA reps from across the U.S. for three days of training, collaboration, and professional development focused on advancing pilot certification and testing.

The symposium will include sessions to help DPEs perform their roles more effectively and to stay current with FAA guidance as it evolves. Topics such as MOSAIC regulatory updates, IACRA and DMS best practices, documenting check rides, and managing applicant scheduling and demand will be covered.

Concurrent sessions are scheduled to address plans of action development and how to become a DPE that will provide valuable insights for seasoned examiners as well as newcomers.

A live, in-person recurrent training course will be held on Friday November 14. This course satisfies the 24-month DPE currency requirement and is the first time this will be offered at the Symposium. In contrast to the usual online format, this new and unique session will enable DPEs to engage directly with their peers and FAA staff.

Event Details:

Robert Rockmaker, President & CEO of FSANA said, “The DPE Symposium is a must-attend event, bringing examiners and the FAA together to improve standardization and strengthen the examiner community. This event helps ensure DPEs have the tools, knowledge, and collaboration they need to maintain consistency, fairness, and excellence in pilot testing nationwide.”

More info including session details and registration are available on the FSANA website.
