Aero-TV At OSH21: RotorX Aircraft Manufacturing Talks QuadRotors

Their eTransporter Is Slated To Begin Testing In Alaska In 2022

RotorX Aircraft Manufacturing, the caretaker for legacy RotorWay helicopters and builder of their own Phoenix A600 Turbo kit aircraft, shared their progress on their upcoming quad rotor helicopter. Don Shaw, President of RotoX, gives Aero News Correspondent Rex Alexander the rundown on their futuristic Air Taxi.

Blending the best attributes of a cargo helicopter with the redundancy and safety of a multi-rotor aircraft, the RX eTransporter and its gas-powered sibling are shaping up to be a strong contender in the eVTOL market. The gas RX Transporter is powered by the same equipment powering the A600 Turbo in quadruplicate, with a max payload over 3,000 pounds, and top speed of 140 mph. With a fly-by-wire, automated autorotation system, the RX could improve urban mobility transport safety for the future's increasingly packed AAM air transit system.

The eTransporter is slated to begin testing in Alaska in 2022.
