AUVSI Names New Board Of Directors

Terms Of New Board And Officers Effective Immediately

At the close of AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2019 last week, The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) today announced new members of its board of directors. The new board members and officers began their terms immediately.

Mark Gordon, Stratom, Inc., was elected as chairman of the board. Other executive committee members elected to new terms are Suzy Young, University of Alabama, Huntsville, as executive vice chairman, and Bill Irby, L3 Technologies, as treasurer. Outgoing Chairman Dallas Brooks, Mississippi State University and ASSURE UAS Center of Excellence, continues to serve on the executive committee as immediate past chairman.

Current directors John Coffey, Cherokee Nation Technologies, and James Thomsen, Seaborne Defense, were reelected to the board.

New directors elected to the board are Sean Bielat, FLIR Systems; Dyan Gibbens, Trumbull Unmanned; Suzanne Murtha, AECOM; Steven Nordlund, The Boeing Company; and Thomas Reynolds, Hydroid Kongsberg.

Directors who are continuing their service on the board are David Agnew, Dataspeed, Inc.; Nevin Carr, Leidos; Brian Chappel, Northrop Grumman; Marke Gibson; Ben Gielow, Amazon; Rob Hess, Unmanned Perspective, LLC; Brent Klavon, ASEC, Inc.; Houston Mills, UPS; Susan Roberts, Panasonic Aviation Corporation; Brendan Schulman, DJI; and Bobby Sturgell, Collins Aerospace.

“This year we are welcoming more representatives from the unmanned ground and maritime communities to the AUVSI board of directors, which starts its new term at XPONENTIAL,” said Brian Wynne, AUVSI president and CEO. “It is important to have a diversity of members with experience and knowledge from throughout the unmanned systems industry to serve on the board and provide direction for our future.”
