Sporty’s Modernizes Its Learn to Fly Course

New Features Revise and Simplify the User Experience

Sporty’s recently finalized its mid-year upgrade to the Learn to Fly course. In this, several new features and lesson amendments were intertwined with the curriculum.

The Sporty’s lesson kit serves as a ground preparation resource for student pilots worldwide. The company has been partnered with the EAA’s Young Eagles program for over 15 years, allowing youth to gain access to the Learn to Fly course at no charge. It utilizes videos, animations, and test practice to teach the basics of flight. So far, over 155,000 Young Eagles have taken part in this opportunity.

The latest update integrates several new resources. Students will be offered interactive exercises, including instrument simulators, chart quizzes, and systems diagrams to apply learned information. The course now presents a Smart Notes tool to keep track of progress and specific FAR Study Guides for each certification level.

Further, the site received considerable updates to existing materials. It was decked out with the latest version of the Airman Certification Standards (ACS). On top of this, many video lessons were given a make-over to include the latest technology and training practices.

The test prep section was also redone, adding over 50 questions to the database to be studied in three new modes. A question search function was thrown in for students to find specific topics to review.

“Choosing the right ground school is a crucial step in your journey toward obtaining your Private Pilot certificate. At Sporty’s, we understand that this journey is dynamic, with new information and technology constantly emerging,” the company said. “That’s why we’re dedicated to providing the most up-to-date and comprehensive videos, content, and study materials to ensure that our courses remain relevant and valuable throughout your training.”

As the flight training environment continues to shift, ground prep resources are forced to evolve alongside it. The Sporty’s upgrade reflects these changes and ensures that lessons have the most current information.
