New Recruits For C-23 Maintenance

When you're waiting on supplies, the last thing you want to hear is that the flight's been canceled for maintenance. M7 Aerospace will soon be working with L-3 Communications Vertex Aerospace to prevent those problems. The company announced Thursday that it will be providing support to the US Army National Guard's fleet of C-23 Sherpa Aircraft.

"M7 Aerospace is extremely pleased to join with L-3 Vertex to manage contractor logistics support for the Army's C-23 Sherpa aircraft around the world," said Mac Williams, President and CEO of M7 Aerospace. "We intend to provide premium service to the full satisfaction of our Army customer," he said in a news release.

The contract, worth more than $300 million, means the team will provide logistical support for up to 10 years. The C-23 is the military designation of the Shorts SD-360s that are used as utility transport aircraft for the Army. The twin-engine turboprops are used for cargo, airdrop, and medical evacuation missions.

M7 will provide overall management of the program, handling subcontractors, staffing field locations and providing service for aircraft even when overseas. The company will perform major modifications, maintenance and inspections as needed.

M7 is a small business, headquartered at the San Antonio International Airport. The company will establish it's C-23 office in Bridgeport, WV in order to work closely with their L-3 Partners. L-3 Vertex will handle supply chain issues, procurement, spares, quality assurance and inventory tracking.

M7 Aerospace will establish its C-23 Program Office in Bridgeport, WV to work closely with L-3 Vertex. L-3 will provide supply chain management for the program, including worldwide procurement, spares overhaul and repair, quality assurance and inventory tracking.
