Here's Your Chance! SWA, ATA, AirTran To Attend Atlanta Pilot Job Fair

American Trans Air, Southwest and AirTran are among the 20+ airlines expected to attend AIR, Inc’s Airline Pilot Career Seminar, Airline Forum, & Job Fair in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel @ ATL Airport. Over 600 prospective pilots seeking airline employment will meet face-to-face with the 75+ recruiters from the expected 20+ major, national, regional, passenger, crew leasing, and cargo airlines attending the job fair seeking qualified and experienced candidates. More than 5,800 new airline pilots were hired in 2002, with an additional 6,000 new jobs estimated for 2003!

“We conduct our Career Seminars and Job Fairs to help prospective airline pilots find out what’s going on in the industry, prepare them for a job with the airlines, and give them the opportunity to meet with key representatives of those airlines,” said Kit Darby, President of AIR, Inc. “In turn, we provide the airline recruiters with hundreds of qualified and experienced pilots. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.”

Airlines currently signed-on to attend AIR, Inc.’s Job Fair in Atlanta include: Majors – American Trans Air and Southwest Airlines; Nationals – AirNet Express, AirTran Airways, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Comair, JetBlue, and Mesa. Airlines invited to attend include Alaska, FedEx, ACA, Flight Options, NW Airlink/Pinnacle Airlines, Island Air, USA 3000 Airlines and many other.

The Seminar is designed to assist civilian, commercial, and military pilots in their pursuit of an airline pilot career by providing them with information on the airline pilot job market, job search planning, written tests, simulator checkrides, and employment medical exams. During the Airline Forum, attendees learn first-hand from airline recruiters what their future hiring plans are and what the airlines are looking for in their applicants. The Job Fair provides an opportunity for the attendees to deliver their résumés personally, pick up applications, and meet one-on-one with the airline recruiters, schedule an interview, even interview and get a job on-site!

Aeroservice Aviation Training Academy, a commercial aviation training organization based in Miami, FL, has donated a free B-727, B-737, or B-747 type rating or B-727 or 747 FE rating valued at up to $8,400, to be given away to one lucky attendee.

Seven separate workshops are offered throughout the weekend. The workshops featured on Friday, June 20 are New - Furlough Survival, Crew Resource Management, Military-to-Airline Transition, and Résumés/Applications. On Sunday, June 22, the workshops are Interview Survival, Testing and Simulator Check, and Civilian-to-Airline Transition.
