FAA Awards PMA To Sierra Hotel Aero For Fuel Valve Replacement

Can Now Replace Cessna 120/140 Valves With Modern Ball-Type Valves

Sierra Hotel Aero (SHA) has received a PMA (Parts Manufacturing Authority) certificate for the Cessna 140A replacement fuel valve.

Along with prior approvals for earlier models, SHA can now replace all Cessna 120/140 OEM valves with these modern ball type valves. The valve can be replaced by any A&P mechanic with no need for a Form 337 at an introductory cost of $740, valid until August 1, 2018.

Sierra Hotel Aero has developed numerous replacement parts for older airplanes. These valves are available for immediate shipping.

"With over 400 of these aircraft flying and difficulty in getting new replacement parts, we were happy to be able to receive FAA approval and market this valve, which is similar to our Navion valves,” said SHA's president and CEO Chris Gardner. “We hope to have additional vintage Cessna aircraft fuel valves done in the very near future,” Gardner added. “We want to keep these legacy aircraft alive with their great flying characteristics and long history.”

Sierra Hotel Aero, Inc., has worked hard to modernize and help keep costs down by offering an alternative, company officials said.
