American Aviation Shows Off Alliant-Equipped King Air At Lakeland

Panel Adds To Cockpit Awareness, And Aircraft Value

American Aviation, Inc. a full-service FBO located at the Hernando County Airport (KBKV), had its newly-completed Alliant King Air 200 integrated flight deck conversion on display for viewing and demo flights during the Lakeland 2007 Fly-In, which wrapped up Monday.

The new panel, part of a nose-to-tail updating of the 1982 King Air 200, features dual-redundant Avidyne EXP5000 Primary Flight Displays (PFDs), a large-format Avidyne EX5000 multi-function display (MFD) and the S-TEC Intelliflight 2100 Digital Flight Control System. In addition, American Aviation took advantage of the avionics installation time to upgrade the paint and interior and install a Raisbeck Epic Performance Kit.

"We are excited to be one of the first to complete an Alliant conversion," said John Petrick, President of American Aviation. "Updating the timeless King Air with the latest in modern digital avionics, takes one of the best airplanes ever made and makes it better."

The Alliant package also includes Mid-Continent two-inch standby instruments, and interfaces to popular traffic, terrain, lightning, radar and radar altimeter systems. In addition, the Alliant package comes standard with Avidyne's exclusive CMax electronic charts and MultiLink support. CMax electronic charts display Jeppesen's approach charts and airport diagrams on the MFD.

MultiLink supports the display of XM WX Satellite Weather and provides Avidyne's unique FlightCenter text messaging and flight tracking services. Representatives with American Aviation state the Alliant upgrade enhances aircraft value, as the full retail value of the system can be added to the Aircraft Blue Book value.

"The Alliant system is a spectacular centerpiece for the overall transformation of the King Air," said Jamie Luster, Avidyne's director of aftermarket sales. "Alliant adds situational awareness and operational benefits of integrating MultiLink weather, on-board radar, traffic, terrain awareness, electronic charting and two-way messaging systems. All of that comes in a beautiful panel that's easy to learn and operate and that adds value to the aircraft."
