AIR Convention Europe 2019 Begins

Gathers Around 700 Aviation Leaders In Lithuania

On September 17th, more than 700 aviation industry experts arrived in Vilnius, Lithuania to start the new session of talks about the present and future of the global commercial aviation market. The second AIR Convention Europe has officially gotten underway.

Claiming to be ground-breaking in many ways, AIR Convention 2019 made this statement clear by introducing its first-ever 36-hour long Aviation Hackathon held with the support of Avia Solutions Group and VGTU Affiliate AGAI. The other notable step forward: each of the two conference days is to be fully broadcasted via AeroTime News Hub.

The commercial aviation forum was opened by the CEO and founder of Wizz Air, József Váradi, who noticed that aviation industry landscape is rapidly evolving, while consumers are becoming more and more complex.

Changing expectations and customer’s point of view certainly have made one of the central points of the conference. As Fabio Zaffalon, Customer Strategy Director at Vueling Airlines pointed out during his stand-alone presentation at AeroTime AIR Tech panel, customer satisfaction driven by the quality of a journey was and remains the number one objective in any airline business.

Passenger satisfaction is also currently an important concern for airports. In his presentation, Roberto Castiglioni, editor-in-chief at Disability Air Travel and member of the Heathrow Access Advisory Group presented different concrete solutions that put technological innovations at the service of passengers with reduced mobility.

The conference didn’t structurally change, but the 2019 agenda was more diverse than ever before. With three main panels streams: Commercial Aviation Forum, AIR Tech combined with Customer Experience and HR & Training, this year’s conference gave voice to lots of people ranging from CEO’s of airlines and airports to local artists for more variety and interactivity.
