Air Marshall Islands Orders Two Cessna SkyCouriers

Passenger Variants Support Travel Throughout Marshall Islands

Textron announced a two-aircraft purchase agreement with Air Marshall Islands for its large utility twin-engine turboprop Cessna SkyCourier. The two passenger variant models will be used to support travel among communities in the Marshall Islands.

Air Marshall Islands is owned by the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) and commercially operated. It is based in the capital city, Majuro.

The SkyCourier can be flown single-pilot and has a large payload capacity. It is highly adaptable and easily adjustable between configurations to efficiently complete any mission whether it’s cargo, passenger, or special missions. The 19-seat passenger variant has crew and passenger doors for easy boarding and large cabin windows for views and natural light.

SkyCourier has two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65SC turboprop engines with the heavy-duty four-blade McCauley Propeller C779 that is full-feathering and reversible pitch. The aircraft is equipped with the Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite and has a max cruise speed of over 200 ktas and 900 nm max range.

Captain Albon Jelke, General Manager & CEO of Air Marshall Islands, Inc said, “AIR Marshall Islands is thrilled to add the Cessna SkyCourier to our fleet. This exciting development is a major milestone in our efforts to modernize our aircraft, allowing us to provide more reliable and efficient flights across the Marshall Islands. Our new SkyCouriers are perfectly designed to reach the remote atolls and islands, ensuring that essential air services are accessible to both our local communities and visitors.”

Lannie O’Bannion, SVP of Global Sales and Flight Operations for Textron Aviation commented, “The Cessna SkyCourier is an excellent choice to support the mission of AIR Marshall Islands. With its low operating costs and maximum cabin flexibility, the SkyCourier is a real game-changer in regional connectivity.”
