Upcoming Webinar: What Happened to Amelia Earhart?

Virtual Event Features David Jourdan Founder and President, Nauticos

Affiliated with the New England Air Museum, an interesting webinar is coming up toward the end of the month...

Entitled, "The Deep Sea Quest for Amelia: Using Radio Tests to Solve the Great Aviation Mystery," the session will take place Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 6:00pm - 7:15pm.

At the end of September 2017, a team from Nauticos, Dynamic Aviation and the historic vessel Nellie Crocket gathered in Virginia to take a step towards solving the mystery of Amelia Earhart's disappearance. Months of preparation led to a very successful series of flights. The weather cooperated with blue skies and calm seas as the specially-configured Beech-18 aircraft flew 200 miles out to sea and transmitted while a team on the Nellie Crockett listened.

David W. Jourdan, founder and president of Nauticos, led three deep ocean expeditions in search of Amelia Earhart's lost Lockheed Electra airplane. Hear what he learned from these experiences and the radio tests.

Jourdan has managed ocean operations for The Discovery Channel during the live broadcast from the wreck of the Titanic in 1998. He is responsible for the discovery of several WWII ships in depth exceeding 17,000 feet, and he led recovery operations for the record-breaking stratospheric balloon ascent and free fall descent by Alan Eustace in 2014. He has spoken to military, business, and scientific organizations about his major discoveries and has appeared on the National Geographic Channel, The Discovery Channel, and the Today Show.

There is no charge for this event, but registration is required.
