Daher Enters Long-Term Lease At Florida Airport

Witham Field Site Of 44-Acre Aerostructures Manufacturing And More

Daher has had a long-term lease approved for its aerostructures manufacturing factory at Witham Field Airport (KSUA) in Stuart, Florida. Daher acquired the facility in July 2022 and the lease will enable the company to pursue future development to establish an aviation industrial center of excellence.

The factory is located on land owned by Martin County, whose Board of County Commissioners approved the lease. The 44-acre site houses approximately 440,000 square feet of production and support activities employing 700 people. Daher has already invested millions of dollars in teams training and upskilling, equipment, and inventory improvements that enhance the quality and output of aerostructures including horizontal stabilizers and other large aircraft components for Boeing, the U.S. Air Force, and others.

The lease extension also provides Daher the potential for growing its business, including the creation of a final assembly line to build its own TBM and Kodiak turboprop-powered aircraft families. Signaling local level support, Martin County is developing its REACH vocational center next door to the Daher plant. This will provide entry-level training in aviation production framework for new employee candidates at Daher.

Didier Kayat, the Daher Group’s Chairman & CEO explained, “As a family-owned company, Daher places a very high value on business development and employment stability in the regions where we’re present, and we look forward to a beneficial partnership with Martin County, the city of Stuart and the state of Florida for many years to come.”

Of the company’s total workforce of 13,000, Daher now employs more than 1,200 people in North America. In addition, its North American revenues comprise 35% of its total revenue of €1.65 billion ($1.7 billion). Daher has operations at Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Mobile, Alabama, and Sandpoint, Idaho, as well as a facility in Nogales, Mexico.
