BRS Is Booming

First Quarter Results Show Impressive Growth

In what appears to be a freshening aviation manufacturing market, one company's single-quarter performance stands out: Ballistic Recovery Systems says it posted $1,866,623 in sales in the first quarter fiscal 2005 ended December 31, 2004, which represents a 25.3% increase over the $1,489,965 figure reported for same period in fiscal 2004. Strong sales in Europe and an increase in units shipped to Cirrus Design were the main contributors to this increase.

Bob Nelson, Chairman of the Board and BRS Chief Executive Officer, said, "Our strong first-quarter results underscore our long-term focus on targeted, quality revenue growth with established business areas. We are successfully expanding our markets and effectively leveraging international sales. This level of sales allows us to continue our commitment to new research and development."

According to BRS President & COO, Larry E. Williams, "Our new parachute system for the Cessna model 182 aircraft was FAA certified last July and early sales results suggest that a significant number of newer model Cessna 182 owners are interested in this system, which installed sells for about $20,000." BRS continues in active discussions with additional aviation aircraft manufacturers in both the US and Europe to adapt the BRS parachute systems designed specifically for their airplanes. These aircraft include the new category of Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) which the FAA projects will grow in popularity significantly by 2006 year end.

Over the company's 25 year history, BRS has sold nearly 20,000 of its whole-plane parachute systems; and these have been documented to have saved over 177 lives.
