Simplifies OEM Audio System Expansion
PS Engineering (PSE) announced the release of its CTL-G Comm Expander audio system, which eases the addition and installation of transceivers, such as FM / TAC, to an OEM aircraft. Such expansion often requires the complicated, time-consuming and expensive removal and replacement of the factory audio system.

The PSE CTL-G audio system is compatible with any factory audio panel with no impact or mods required of existing wiring. In addition, multiple CTL-G control heads can be used where dual audio panel configurations are installed.
According to Greg Ledbetter of PSE, labor is typically the deterrent factor. He said, “Adding additional transceivers (FM/TAC) to an OEM aircraft can require removal and replacement of the factory audio system and that isn’t an easy task. Normally, the labor associated is a deterrent for most avionics shops, but with the CTL-G audio system, this anxiety will be drastically reduced.”
PS Engineering said the CTL-G with remote mount HUB45R supports the following:
- Single or dual crew CTL-G control heads
- Cabin mission control head
- Independent FM/TAC volume controls for all inputs
- Separate ICS & Master Radio Volume
- USB-C 15W enhanced charger
- MultiTalker® dimensional sound (HRTF)
- Stereo IntelliVox® Intercom
- Music input for XM audio
- TXI - Intercom stays active during radio transmission
- RXI- Com indication flashes when audio is active
- PTT Key indication with 35 second stuck mic disconnect
- Simulcast - transmit on multiple comms at the same time
- Artificial Transmit Sidetone
- Illuminated selection indications for front panel user controls, NVIS optional
- Bluetooth® for cellular telephone and audio streaming
- Pilot remote hands-free comm swap
- Four unswitched inputs with volume adjustments
- Three field programmable custom alerts including separate cabin call alert
- Provides panel power for ANR headset, no additional breaker required
- Field configuration, no laptops or dongles required
- 2 Year Warranty

The company expects FAA-TSO approval in Q2 2025 with shipments following shortly after.
PS Engineering will be available to answer your questions at Booth #331 at the Aircraft Electronics Association’s conference this year running from March 18-21 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The company will also host a training class at the convention on Thursday March 18 at 8:30 am.
