Updated Version Chronicles History Of Flight

Aviation History, a book by author Anne Millbrooke, has been very well received since its release in 2003... and a new version sporting several revised pages is now available.

Each of the full-color book's 10 chapters details international aviation history. Published by Jeppesen, Aviation History includes over 950 photographs and color graphics. Millbrooke begins with the birth of aviation in Annonay, France in 1783, and ends in the present. The new book stretches to 636 pages.

Personal profiles of aviation's greatest achievers are included, as well as a glance at how historians use various aviation artifacts.

As ANN reported, Aviation History was the 2003 recipient of The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Gardner-Lasser Aerospace History Literature Award. The award is presented for the best original contribution to the field of aeronautical or astronautical non-fiction literature published in the last five years.

Anne Milbrooke received her PhD in history from the University of Pennsylvania, and went on to serve as a historian for Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Standard, Sikorsky, and other divisions. She has won Mellon, Smithsonian, National Science Foundation, and NASA fellowships. The revised, updated edition of Aviation History is her latest major publication.
