Gogo Business Aviation To Support Corporate Angel Network

Donating Items For The NBAA/CAN Soiree To Be Held At NBAA 2014

Donated items for the NBAA/CAN Soirée An Evening with Angels are more exciting than ever this year.  The auction, held to benefit Corporate Angel Network (CAN) during the National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2014), takes place at 6pm on Wednesday, October 22nd at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, FL and features many highly prized items and priceless bidding opportunities for those in the aviation industry and beyond.

Gogo Business aviation is donating one of its ATG 2000 systems. This hardware offers big connectivity for aircraft with lighter passenger loads - providing a fully-connected internet and voice experience over the Gogo Biz network, for up to 5 Wi-Fi connected devices. Gogo Biz is for business aviators who want to stay connected while flying over the Continental United States and portions of Alaska and Canada. The unit supports Wi-Fi-enabled laptops, tablets and smartphones. The ATG 2000 equipment package has a retail value of $57,000 (excluding installation).

The Gogo Text & Talk software key allows customers to use their own smartphone to call and text in the air – no different than when on the ground.  The software uses the customer’s own number, so there is no need for two-step dialing routines, call forwarding protocols or pre-programmed extensions. Patent-pending technology allows Gogo Text & Talk to work through a Gogo Biz connection with Wi-Fi without the need for expensive and heavy technology. This software key has a retail value of $10,000.

Gogo Business Aviation’s items have often been the most heavily anticipated auction lots in years past at the Soirée and it is shaping up to be that way again in 2014. “These are remarkably generous donations,” said CAN Executive Director Dick Koenig. Koenig also noted, “Donations like this will certainly help bring more cancer patients closer to the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer, no matter where in the country they may live. Funds raised at this event will be used to accomplish that mission on a daily basis.”

CAN (the auction beneficiary) arranges free transportation for cancer patients to specialized treatment by using the empty seats on corporate jets.  Since its first flight in 1981, CAN, a 501 (c) (3) organization with Public Charity status, has provided more than 45,000 flights for adults and children whose best treatment options are often hundreds or even thousands of miles from home.
