Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen Leads Flight Of New Aircraft To Middle Tennesse

MTSU Buys Fleet Of Diamond DA20-C1s, DA40 Trainers

Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen lead MTSU university officials in a ceremonial fly in of new aircraft for MTSU's aviation program. The Governor, who is a pilot, arrived in a Diamond DA40 Diamond Star.

After arrival, MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee thanked the Governor for his support. Diamond Aircraft presented Dr. McPhee with a full size display aircraft to commemorate the purchase of the MTSU fleet.

Middle Tennessee State University has purchased a fleet of nine Diamond DA20-C1s and eleven Diamond DA40 aircraft. MTSU has one of the few full-service aviation programs in the country - offering concentrations in administration, maintenance management, professional pilot technology and flight dispatch scheduling.

"It's been years to get to this point," said Paul Craig, chairman, aerospace, "the planes we have been using these many years don't represent today's technology. An interesting partnership has been forged between MTSU and Diamond."
