Source: Capt. Steve Blankenship, APA Spokesman, on the discovery that top American Airlines executives gave themselves a bullet-proof pension plan after Sept. 11, 2001, just in case the airline went belly-up. The discovery came just after American's three major unions voted to accept $1.8 million in concessions rather than see the airline enter Chapter 11.
