Embraer Gets Firm Order From ANA Holdings

Largest Airline In Japan Signs For 15 E190-E2 Aircraft

Embraer announced it has received a firm order from All Nippon Airways for 15 of its E190-E2 passenger aircraft and options for an additional five as part of ANA’s fleet renewal program. The purchase will enhance ANA’s domestic connectivity economically, more efficiently, and with improved space and comfort for passengers.

This is the first order of E2 aircraft from Japan, with deliveries expected to begin in 2028.

E-Jets by Embraer have operated in Japan since 2009 and are supported by Embraer personnel in Japan. The E190-E2 will be the first of Embraer's next-gen aircraft to operate there, and features spacious two-by-two seating with larger windows to provide more room and light for passenger comfort.

Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer for Embraer Commercial Aviation said, “We are honoured that Embraer’s E190-E2 small narrowbody aircraft will join ANA’s fleet and we look forward to the delivery of the first aircraft in 2028. The E190-E2 is the quietest and most fuel-efficient aircraft available, whose size perfectly complements ANA’s fleet of larger narrowbodies.

“Furthermore, the E2’s cabin will appeal to ANA’s passengers as it offers outstanding comfort and space with no middle seats. We look forward to seeing the aircraft take to the skies across Japan.”

ANA was founded in 1952 with just two helicopters and has grown to become the largest airline in Japan. The ANA Holdings Inc. was established in 2013 and is the largest aviation holding company in the country, with three airline brands that include ANA, Peach, and Air Japan which launched in 2024 for international routes across Asia.
