Jetson Appoints New CEO

Stéphan D’haene to Head Up eVTOL Company

Jetson, the electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) company whose race-car inspired, commercially-available Jetson ONE personal eVTOL has seen consistent and substantial growth in the US market, announced on 20 March 2023 that Stéphan D’haene has been named the company’s new CEO.

Mr. D’haene, who brings extensive industry experience and a proven track record of driving growth and innovation in the aviation industry, joins Jetson after a "successful" stint at the beleaguered Aviation concern ICON Aircraft, where he served as COO and spearheaded the turnaround of the company’s engineering and manufacturing operations.

Prior to his hitch at ICON, Mr. D’haene held executive positions at numerous reputable light sport aircraft companies, including Sweden’s BlackWing and Italy’s Porto Aviation Group. During his decade at BRP, the world’s leading powersport company, D’haene had the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the recreational powersport business—in which the Jetson ONE is well positioned to excel.

Mr. D’haene stated: “Seeing the Jetson ONE for the first time, about a year-and-a-half ago, I was extremely excited about their flying concept vehicle. Finally, a team of visionary people led by Tomasz Patan and Peter Ternström had cracked the code and made flying more accessible than ever. Today I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this innovative eVTOL company as the new CEO.”

D’haene continued: “The dream of flying has never been more accessible with the paradigm-shifting Jetson ONE, powered by an environmentally sustainable electric drivetrain. Together, we will push the boundaries of what is possible in the eVTOL industry and deliver game-changing solutions that will have a positive impact on the environment and society as a whole.”

Working closely with Jetson’s talented team to bring innovative solutions to the eVTOL market and further democratize personal flight, Mr. D’haene will lead Jetson through its next phase of growth, leveraging his expertise in Aviation operations, engineering, aircraft certification, sales & marketing, and customer support.

Jetson founder and president Peter Ternstrom remarked: “We are confident that Stéphan D’haene’s expertise and leadership will help us achieve our goals and take the future of transport to a new level. We look forward to working with him as we continue to develop innovative eVTOL technology and change the way we travel.”
