NBAA-BACE Restores CAN’s Annual 'Fund an Angel' Event

Fundraiser Works to Set Up Air Transport For Cancer Patients

The Corporate Angel Network (CAN) is reintroducing its Fund an Angel event at the 2024 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). This fundraiser seeks to arrange business aircraft transportation for cancer patients in need of treatment.

“As our most important fundraiser of the year, Fund an Angel proceeds enable us to grow our mission, helping cancer patients during the worst times of their lives,” said Robert Stangarone, CAN President and CEO. “We are grateful to NBAA and the business aviation community for their generosity and support of this important event through sponsorships, the silent auction, donations and ticket purchases.”

CAN has organized and carried out 68,000 business aircraft flights for cancer patients since its creation. 2,000 of these were completed last year alone, with CAN working alongside over 500 corporations to help as many patients as possible. The Fund an Angel event raised nearly half a million dollars to fulfill CAN’s mission in 2023 through sponsorships, donations, and auction sales.

The National Business Aviation Administration’s event, NBAA-BACE, will be taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport (KHND) from October 22 to 24. The Fund an Angel event is set to occur from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 23. With a 20,000-person attendance and over 800 exhibitors at the 2023 convention, Fund an Angel has the opportunity to get the exposure and participation needed to continue fueling their mission.

All NBAA-BACE attendees and business aviation associates are invited to the Fund an Angel showcase. It will offer time for drinks and chit-chat, visiting the silent auction, and learning more about the importance of CAN’s operation.

“Business aviation is a community dedicated to giving back and helping those in need,” commented NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “This event, coupled with CAN’s long history of organizing humanitarian flights with business aircraft, perfectly aligns with these values. We are thrilled to once again support this essential organization.”
