The Oshkosh Organized Chaos Begins

EAA Publishes 2025 AirVenture Mass Arrival Schedule

Continuing a long-standing AirVenture tradition, the Experimental Aircraft Association has finalized its arrival schedule for herds of like aircraft to fly into the 2025 airshow. The organization has set out 10-20 minute blocks for each of the five groups.

While many other coordinated arrivals will inevitably be arranged by various aviation communities, the EAA has organized five group fly-ins: Mooneys, Bonanzas, Cessnas, and Cherokees. They will all make their way into Oshkosh within 10-20 minute blocks on the Saturday and Sunday leading up to the official airshow kick-off on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Mooney Caravan XXVII was given the first arrival block. The affair begins several days prior to AirVenture, with all aircraft expected to make their way to Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) on July 17. Pilots will receive several briefings before starting engines, checking in, taxiing, completing run-up, and taking off in sync. Their mass arrival at Wittman Regional (OSH) begins at 10:00 am on July 19.

The Bonanzas to Oshkosh crew will meet up at a specific B2OSH ramp at La Crosse Regional Airport (LSE) and perform a similar coordinated departure. They will arrive at the airshow three hours after the Mooneys at 1:00 pm on July 19.

To close out day one of mass arrivals, the Cessnas to Oshkosh gang were given the 5:00 pm slot. They will gather at Juneau, Wisconsin’s Dodge County Airport (UNU), and fly around 35 miles north into Oshkosh.

Saturday, July 20, will bring in the Cherokee clans. Cherokees to Oshkosh will take place at 1200, flying from Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) to OSH and touching down at noon.

While these group fly-ins are sure to be great fun, they require thorough planning and preparation. Those planning to join a mass arrival can register a slot and consult their aircraft’s organization for more information.
