Dr. Harold Brown To Lecture At Wings Of The North Museum

Program Is Titled 'A Hero's Journey: The Last Of The Tuskegee Airmen

Studio/E invites you to an evening of heroism, history and inspiration. It is a distinct honor for us to bring to you Dr. Harold Brown, one of the last surviving members of the storied Tuskegee Airmen – the first African American pilots allowed to join the U.S. Army Air Corps. With a profound passion for aviation and service, Dr. Brown is a great example of following your desire.

At this event, Dr. Brown will discuss some of the experiences covered in his just-released biography, Keep Your Airspeed Up: The Story of a Tuskegee Airman, in which he chronicles the amazing journey of an African American boy growing up in Minneapolis who went on to become a hero. Some of his heroic feats include showing incredible determination to become an aviator in a deeply segregated military; being shot down over Austria, where he was rescued by an Austrian constable from villagers intent on lynching him; spending months in a POW camp and serving as one of our nation’s first jet pilots during the Korean War.

This remarkable event will be held at the Wings of the North Museum. A treasure in and of itself, the museum preserves and protects aviation history and houses an impressive collection of vintage aircraft, including a P-51 fighter plane of the type that Dr. Brown flew during the Second World War.

The combination of a heroic Tuskegee Airman and the backdrop of historic aircraft is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We encourage you to invite friends and family along as we bring history to life. After his presentation, Dr. Brown will be signing his book, of which each of you will receive a free copy.

The event will be held at the Wings of the North Museum at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie, MN on September 13. Children 12 and under (Young Explorers) are free; in-session member tickets (Cohorts T, U, V and W and Masters) are free with discount code; all other tickets, including general public and those purchased at the door, are $20.
