The Lakeland Follies '03--A Gallery of the Good, Bad and Airworthy (Part 1)

The Aero-News Network team (Jim, Tim, Pete, John, Juan, and Bob) had a great time bringing you our coverage of Sun 'n Fun 2003 (despite a number of obstacles). The warm Florida sun and the equally warm groups of people that gathered in Lakeland for this year's event made for a fairly pleasant week of sun, fun, airplanes, and friends--old and new.

As a part of our wrap-up, we'd like to share some of the things we saw as we wandered the grounds, gathering the news last week.

First, a quick stop to register…


…then on to the show grounds


It was a little daunting, trying to figure out where to begin…


…with so much to see and do…


…I mean, there was stuff EVERYWHERE…


…so we'd usually begin by visiting the vendors and exhibitors.


Of course, there were a lot of airplanes to look at, but there was more


Chat, ask questions, watch demos…



And maybe even meet an aviation legend.


Or, try your hand at flying the Wright Flyer simulator.


Next... homebuilts, warbirds, antiques, and airshows... oh my!
