Bill Boisture Retires from GAMA

W.W. Boisture, Jr. (right), Chairman of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), announced his resignation as chairman of the association's Board of Directors at the conclusion of Thursday's quarterly meeting. Boisture's resignation comes a few weeks after the announcement that he will retire from General Dynamics and Gulfstream.

Boisture joined the GAMA Board in 1999 and has been a driving force for transforming the association to meet the challenges of a changing environment. As Chairman of GAMA's International Affairs Committee in 2000 and 2001, Boisture pushed GAMA to respond to the globalization of general aviation including opening its membership to international companies. He is also largely responsible for the creation of a new GAMA Security Committee designed to facilitate communication between the industry and the Department of Homeland Security.

Clayton M. Jones, Chairman (right), President and CEO of Rockwell Collins, was elected Vice Chairman of GAMA in November.

He will immediately assume the responsibilities of GAMA Chairman.

Jones has been a member of GAMA's Board of Directors since 1997.

He chaired the association's Flight Operations Policy Committee from 1999 through 2001.

Jones stated, "Bill Boisture has been a very strong and effective leader for GAMA. I will benefit greatly during my tenure as chairman from the work he has done. There is no doubt GAMA, indeed the entire general aviation industry, owes him a debt of gratitude."
