Northrop Grumman Receives US Air Force Military Support Contract

Will Provide More Technical, Engineering Support

Northrop Grumman says it's been awarded a contract to expand the US Air Force's staff of qualified mission-support personnel for technical and engineering support and for increased air defense of the United States.

The contract is valued at $64 million over five years and includes four option years.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will hire qualified personnel with the appropriate security clearances to provide the Air Force with intelligence collection and analysis. Additional tasks include operational planning, training, exercise planning and execution, computer systems, network management, security, personnel-management services, civil engineering, logistics management, aircraft maintenance, and supply and civil-support operations expertise.

"Northrop Grumman's ability to rapidly staff a large number of qualified technical and administrative personnel, coupled with our experience instructing air operations, will allow the Air Force to focus on its homeland security mission," said Kent Schneider, president of Northrop Grumman IT's Defense Enterprise Solutions business unit.

Northrop Grumman IT personnel will perform the work at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL, and McChord Air Force Base, WA, as well as Rome, NY, and Salt Lake City, UT.

Northrop Grumman's teammate on the contract is Cubic Applications, Lacey, WA.
