Airborne 04.23.15: Able Flight, Diesel Archer, RutanRC!

Tempest Plus Marketing Group has announced support for Able Flight as a Platinum Level Sponsor in 2015. With Tempest's backing over the next three years, Able Flight plans to train three pilots designated as recipients of the Tempest-Able Flight Scholarship in Memory of Lloyd Smith.

Piper Aircraft announced at Sun 'n Fun on Tuesday that its team member, Technify Motors, has received validation approval from the FAA for their EASA supplemental type certificate in support of the new diesel trainer option, the Archer DX. Now you too can have your own White Knight and SpaceShipOne … sort of. A company formed to develop, manufacture, and distribute innovative radio controlled model aircraft announced its launch of a Kickstarter campaign to fund the tooling, development and initial production of its first models, which are Burt Rutan’s epic, SpaceShipOne and White Knight.
