ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell talks with Brett Gardner, Director of Sales and Marketing for Becker Avionics. Among other things, Becker Avionics provides electronic devices used in search and rescue operations. Gardner introduces Jim to the Polycon wireless intercom system. When we think of an intercom system, it’s common to think of communicating only inside the aircraft. But in a search and rescue operation, the intercom has to be stretched to outside the aircraft.
In this video you not only learn about a product, you’ll also pick up some interesting information about how search and rescue works. The wireless Polycon intercom system allows intercom communications between a rescue aircraft pilot, crew members, and rescue personnel not directly connected to the aircraft. This rugged, UHF system is particularly useful in helicopter rescue situation. This interesting video will give you some insight about the specialized needs in a search and rescue operation.
