Boeing Receives Apache Orders From DoD

Two Contracts Worth More Than $600 Million

Boeing received a pair or orders for Apache Block III helicopters last week. The two contracts together total over $600 million

The larger of the two contracts is a $486,370,418 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for the AH-64D Apache Block III (pictured) low rate initial production and related support. Work began on the aircraft back in October while the agreement was finalized, according to the Chicago Tribune. The aircraft are being built in Mesa, AZ, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 30, 2014. The bid was solicited through the Internet, with one bid received.

A second firm-fixed-price contract worth $171,777,672 will provide for the procurement of Apache Block III aircraft and related services in support of Foreign Military Sales. This work will also be performed in Mesa, AZ, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 30, 2014.  One bid was solicited, with one bid received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, AL, is the contracting activity for both of the agreements.
