Mesa Now Under Investigation In ACA Takeover Bid

ACA says anti-trust officials at the Justice Department are investigating Mesa Air Group to determine whether Mesa's proposed acquisition of Atlantic Coast Airlines violates anti-trust laws.

As we reported earlier, ACA is suing Mesa, accusing its hostile suitor and United Air Lines of violating various antitrust laws in trying to block the launch of Independence Air. ACA says that's what the takeover attempt is really all about. Atlantic Coast wants a federal judge to issue a preliminary injunction barring Mesa from going ahead with its efforts to acquire the company or to replace the ACA's board of directors.
