etZero has benefitted from a US Air Force award of $235-million to build an airliner-scale, piloted, Blended Wing Body technology demonstrator in partnership with Northrop-Grumman and Scaled Composites. Across all metrics, the company’s performance surpassed 2022’s second-quarter—evincing stabilization of the general aviation aircraft market. NTSB Prelim: Mesnard Velocity Twin

Pilot Reported To First Responders That After Departing The Airport, The Airplane "Had An Engine Failure"

On August 1, 2023, about 0922 eastern daylight time, an experimental, amateur-built Velocity Twin, N106VT, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Sandersville, Georgia. The pilot sustained serious injuries and the passenger sustained fatal injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The airplane had arrived at Kaolin Field Airport (OKZ), Sandersville, Georgia, about mid-day on the July 31, 2023, to stop for fuel and have the engines examined by a local authorized dealer for the engine manufacturer. Hold-In-Lieu Of Procedure Turn A hold-in-lieu of procedure turn shall be established over a final or intermediate fix when an approach can be made from a properly aligned holding pattern. The hold-in-lieu of procedure turn permits the pilot to align with the final or intermediate segment of the approach and/or descend in the holding pattern to an altitude that will permit a normal descent to the final approach fix altitude.
