Upgraded Models Mark A Quarter-Century Of Flying And Floating Fun…
Progressive Aerodyne is marking the 25th anniversary of the SeaRey amphibious airplane this year with upgraded models for your flying and floating enjoyment.
Ken Oaks, Director of Sales & Marketing for Progressive Aerodyne, told ANN's Tom Patton at Sun 'n Fun in April that the company has updated its most popular airplane, the SeaRey Elite, with a Garmin G3X Touch avionics package, which meets the requirements for the FAA's 2020 ADS-B mandate, and is powered by a Rotax 914 Turbo engine.
For those looking for a more basic airplane, the company has its Adventure model. The airplane has analog gauges, manual flaps and is powered by a 100 horsepower Rotax engine. The price point for the SeaRey Adventure is $119,000, Oaks said.
SeaReys appeal to high-time pilots who are just getting into seaplane and tailwheel flying "who want to fall in love with flying all over again," Oaks said. "The SeaRey attracts them for the ability to do the adventure, as well as the stick and rudder flying."
