Flight Attendant Accused Of Mile-High Encounter With Actor

Coworkers Say FA Had Lavatory Dalliance With Ralph Fiennes

A classic "he said/she said" scenario involving Australian carrier Qantas is playing out, just in time for Valentine's Day. A flight attendant is accused of having a mile-high encounter with actor Ralph Fiennes, during a recent flight from Sydney, Australia to India.

Fiennes hasn't commented on the alleged dalliance... but Lisa Robertson, 37, insists she turned down the star of "Schinder's List" and "The English Patient."

"While conversing with Mr Fiennes during my break, I expressed a need to go to the toilet," Robertson told her supervisors, according to a report leaked to a newspaper in Sydney. "I entered it, he followed me and entered the same toilet. I explained to him that this was inappropriate and asked him to leave."

"Mr Fiennes became amorous towards me and, after a short period of time, I convinced him to leave the toilet," the statement continues. "I left a short time later. At no time did any crew member come to my assistance. At no time were any other customers aware of this incident. At no time did I put the Qantas name or reputation in jeopardy."

Two of Robertson's coworkers, who saw the flight attendant leave the lav, swear there was more to it than that, however... a lot more.

The Daily Mail reports Robertson is accused of violating two airline policies -- allowing Fiennes, 44, to sit in a crew seat while chatting during Robertson's rest break ("This is common practice on long flights to build a rapport with passengers," Robertson told her supervisors) and the... other... thing.

Qantas has placed the former police officer on paid leave while it investigates the matter. If the airline rules the encounter was sexual in nature, Robertson could be fired.

In an odd bit of circumstance, Fiennes was flying to India on behalf of UNICEF, to promote awareness of safe sex practices in the country's fight against AIDS.

FMI: May We Suggest This Instead, Mr. Fiennes?
