Corporate Angel Network Adds Turboprops To Fleet

Aircraft Available For Cancer Patients Significantly Expands

Corporate Angel Network (CAN), a Danbury, Connecticut-based provider of free transportation on business jets for cancer patients to travel to specialized treatment centers, announced a significant expansion of its fleet by adding turboprop aircraft to its legacy jet fleet.

CAN is able to provide transportation services through the generosity of corporate flight departments and other operators who make unused seats on their business jets available for patients. CAN flew more than 2,000 patient flights in 2023. However, many patients are still challenged when they need care in distant locations, especially when they live in remote areas or when in need financially.

An important part of the mission is to ensure safe travel for patients and was a major consideration in its expansion of lift capacity. All CAN flights are flown in pressurized aircraft with two pilots.

Robert Stangarone, CAN President and CEO said, “With more than 600,000 cancer deaths and two million new cancer cases each year, our challenge is to provide many more patients with this service. We have an opportunity to save many more lives by opening up the fleet to the thousands of single- and twin-engine turboprop aircraft currently in operation.”

He continued, “While we are incredibly proud of the number of lives we have helped, our efforts are limited by the availability of flight resources. For years, patient requests for flights have outnumbered aircraft available by a factor of two.”

Corporate flight departments and other operators willing to work with Corporate Angel Network can call 914-328-1313 or send an inquiry on the website below, where people can also donate financially or sign up to be a volunteer at the link below.
