Spartan College Names Peter H. Harris As New CEO

Board Member Becomes Chief Executive Of The Aviation School

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, a leading aviation education college for over 85 years, today announced the appointment of one of its Board members, Peter H. Harris, as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Harris will succeed Jeremy D. Gibson, who served in that role for the past eight years. Gibson will continue on the Board and remains actively involved in several key projects.

”I am thrilled to join the ranks at Spartan College,” said Harris. “It’s a rare opportunity to serve in an organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities that have a meaningful impact on the lives of students and their families.”

Harris consistently produces positive results in organizations by listening to customers and delivering high quality services. The geographic scope of his oversight has included every state and multiple international locations. He has served on many boards of directors for companies in education, service and manufacturing industries and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Meritas, a worldwide family of college-preparatory schools.

Harris has held the position of CEO or COO at several large companies, such as a national staffing firm and the largest owner and operator of Jiffy Lube stores, as well as a provider of telephonic interpretation services for more than 200 languages.

Harris received an honors undergraduate degree in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Political Science from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. He and his wife, Alexandra, are the parents of four children and currently reside in Dallas, Texas.
