AA Flight Attendant Arrested for Bomb Threat

Diversion blamed on bomb threat note allegedly placed by flight attendant

The Associated Press is reporting that an American Airlines flight attendant has been arrested and charged with a criminal bomb threat that resulted in the diversion of an AA flight to Nashville. The flight originated in Dallas and was scheduled to arrive in Boston.

FBI agents arrested 37-year-old Gay Wilson of Arlington (TX) on friday, one day after she said she had found the note in one of the aircraft's lavatories. The note claimed that there was a bomb in the aircraft's cargo hold, but after a thorough search, nothing was found.

Ms. Wilson was charged with unlawful interference with an aircraft, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. She is scheduled to appear for a court hearing on Tuesday, June 1.
