ElectronicFlight GNS 530 Software for E-2s

First Commercial GPS in Military Aviation Application

The VAW-77, "Night Wolves" last month installed their first Garmin 530 in an E-2 surveillance aircraft. This is a first for the E-2 aircraft to be fitted with a commercial navigation product. Lt. Cmdr. Allen Lamberson USNR Pilot Training Officer purchased the ElectronicFlight Solutions Garmin trainer for review. "Top priority for any new piece of equipment is how this technology would be taught to our pilots. After my review of this program I knew my training issues were over. This program is the perfect fit for my pilots, it is in-depth, thorough and easy to use." said Lt. Cmdr. Lamberson.

Lamberson continues, "One of the missions of this squadron is to demonstrate this powerful piece of navigation equipment to all other U.S. E-2 bases. The tour of the U.S. begins later this month and ElectronicFlight Solutions is on our list for a visit. The goal is that all 100 E-2 aircraft will be fitted this next year and EFS training will be part of that equation."
