Vulcanair Aircraft to Integrate Jet Fuel Piston Engines
DeltaHawk and Vulcanair announced in a joint press conference at EAA AirVenture 2024 they have entered into a collaborative relationship to develop FAA- and EASA-certified installation of the innovative, FAA-certified DHK jet fuel piston engines into Vulcan’s line of general aviation aircraft.
The agreement has been executed and the two companies have begun exchanging engineering data and technical resources to begin integrating the DeltaHawk engine into Vulcanair’s V-1 aircraft in the initial phase, with future phases involving the P.68 and A-Viator aircraft.
The global availability of jet fuel means the engine can be sold in areas where AvGas is or is planned to be removed from sale. Flight schools and students will reap the benefit of overall savings from lower cost of maintenance and fuel consumption as well as lower cost of fuel itself.
Michael McMann, VP of Sales & Marketing of Vulcanair Aircraft US distributor Ameravia said, “Installation of the DHK engine in the V1 and P-68 platforms will expand the market not only because of the lower cost of operation but also because of fuel availability concerns. DeltaHawk’s highly innovative engine technology is already setting new standards for what a modern General Aviation engine should be, and we are excited about what this technology will bring to the V1 performance and cost of operation.”
CEO of DeltaHawk said, “We are very excited about our formal collaboration with Vulcanair, and we anticipate the DHK engine in these aircraft will be a huge success in the training and international markets. In addition, this is a great step towards expanding the General Aviation market while ensuring and improving environmental sustainability.
