Cessna Delivers First European Citation CJ4

EASA Certification Still Pending

Cessna said Thursday that it delivered Europe's first Citation CJ4 to a private owner/operator in the U.K, last month.

Citation CJ4

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for the CJ4 is now pending and Cessna plans to make the first European-registered delivery of the aircraft type, into Germany, in the second quarter of 2011. FAA certification for the CJ4 was granted in March 2010, with the first customer delivery taking place in April.

The CJ4 is the newest and largest member of the popular CJ family of business jets, which includes the Citation CJ1+, CJ2+ and CJ3. The CJ4 is FAA-approved for single-pilot operations and shares a common pilot type rating with the other CJs, meaning a pilot rated to fly any one of the CJs is therefore rated to fly them all.

The CJ4 has a range of just over 2,000 nautical miles and a top speed of 453 knots. The aircraft has a takeoff roll of 3,130 feet at maximum takeoff weight. The aircraft features a four-screen Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite and debuts the Rockwell Collins Venue cabin management system. Standard features on the aircraft include multi-scan weather radar and a maintenance diagnostic system.
