Gentex Corp Names New Fixed Wing Helmet PURSUIT

Head Protection Mission-Ready And Future-Proof

Gentex Corporation announced that the name for its newest fixed-wing helmet system is PURSUIT, reflecting the company’s commitment to innovation and delivering advanced helmet solutions to meet the ever-evolving needs of modern aircrews.

Gentex has provided its reliable HGU-55/P and HGU-68P helmet systems for several decades but mission requirements have grown so that aircrews must adapt to added weight from night vision goggles (NVGs) and helmet mounted displays (HMDs). The increased neck strain and discomfort have in many cases required the use of multiple helmets for expanding mission needs.

The PURSUIT helmet reduces weight, enhances comfort, and eliminated compromises to ensure that aircrews are equipped for modern missions and ready for future technology incorporation.

The PURSUIT helmet is engineered for today’s warfighters as well as those of tomorrow. It is fully compliant with U.S. Navy and Air Force performance standards, and Gentex’s MOSA system design allows for seamless integration of current and future HMDs, advanced communications systems, and optical and respiratory protection. These provide safety, adaptability, and warfighting capability for aircrews today and in the future.

The PURSUIT system has an advanced, lightweight carbon shell that reduces neck strain and lowers the risk of short and long-term injuries from longer missions and high-G maneuvers. It also has an enhanced ventilation system the prevents heat buildup along with fire-resistant, moisture-wicking comfort pads for increased aircrew comfort on long-duration flights.

Gentex has provided standard aircrew protection for 75 years with combat-proven  innovation, and says its PURSUIT next-generation fixed wing helmet system isn’t just a helmet – it provides a tactical advantage.
