Baldwin Safety & Compliance Introduces Mapping Feature

Geo-Positioning Capability Benefits SMS Initiatives

In October 2023, Baldwin Safety & Compliance introduced an innovative geo-positioning feature to the company’s safety reporting system.

The integrated mapping system permits users to pinpoint the exact locations of safety-related events and incorporate data collected from a wide range of sources including operator-specific safety reports, Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) reports, Aviation Safety Information Analysis & Sharing (ASIAS) reports, and Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) reports.

Baldwin Safety & Compliance is a South Carolina-based concern founded, in 2004, on the premise that smaller flight departments require and deserve levels of resources, programs, services, and safety management equal to those afforded their multinational counterparts.

By developing flexible proprietary software, Baldwin delivers safety management programs and related business systems properly scaled to the needs of varying agencies, operators, and certificate-holders.

Baldwin Safety & Compliance director of safety Dr. Jason Starke stated: “We are excited to integrate this mapping feature into our reporting functionality to help determine patterns of high-risk in specific locations. We have been beta testing this with the air medical community due to their high volume of safety reporting and now it is available to all our subscribers. The real value lies in the long-term analysis to determine recurring safety hazards and patterns unique to specific areas. This feature leverages state-of-the-art technology for reporting and analysis.”

In 2007, only three-years after the company’s founding, Baldwin Safety & Compliance earned the distinction of being named the sole IS-BAO-registered SMS implementer. Stage II and III registration followed in 2010 and 2013 respectively.  In 2012, Baldwin became the first IS-BAO Support Services Affiliate (I3SA) and the first PS3 IS-BAO member.
