Upgraded: Timothy McMahon

Named VP Of Air Force Command & Control Strategic Programs

Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed Timothy J. McMahon as vice president of Air Force and Command & Control Strategic Programs and the corporate lead executive for the company's business in the Colorado Springs region.

In this new position, McMahon is responsible for leading the enterprise-wide strategy and approach for its work with the US Air Force. In addition, McMahon will serve as the principal corporate point of contact for all Northrop Grumman business in Colorado Springs. He will provide senior leadership and coordination between the company's 1,200 employees and its primary customers in the area.

Northrop Grumman customers in Colorado include the Air Force Space Command; North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD); United States Northern Command; National Reconnaissance Office; Missile Defense Agency; and Army Space and Missile Defense Command. McMahon will foster a shared understanding of these customers' current and future needs and focus on leveraging corporate resources to satisfy those needs.

"Our lead management approach aligns all Northrop Grumman business in Colorado Springs under a single executive who will establish an integrated enterprise-wide strategy that will benefit all customers in the region," said Donald C. Winter, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. "Tim is uniquely qualified to take on this new role given his rich background in military space and strategic forces operations. Northrop Grumman's full-spectrum of capabilities will be readily available to all customers through Tim's new role."

McMahon joined Northrop Grumman in June 2003 after a 32-year career with the Air Force where he retired with the rank of major general. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Quincy University in Quincy, Ill., and a master's degree in public administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. McMahon is also a distinguished graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business.

Northrop Grumman's presence in Colorado Springs includes providing more than three decades of technical expertise. The company employs approximately 2,500 statewide.
