COO, Patrick Herguth Earns His Private Ticket While Working At
Avidyne
The folks at Avidyne Corporation
know that people who "get" aviation will also have a better
understanding of their products, and early on developed a corporate
training program designed go help employees learn to fly. The most
recent beneficiary of that program, earning a private pilot's
license, is Chief Operating Officer Patrick Herguth.
"When I started Avidyne in 1994 I wanted to create an
opportunity for as many of our employees as possible to experience
the utility of general aviation while working to making flying
simpler and safer," said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne's President and CEO.
"One of the first policies put in place at Avidyne was a 50%
reimbursement of any type of flight training. We have
supported a large number of employees in their primary training,
CFI training and many other types of ratings. It is exciting
to come to work every day and be surrounded by a pilot-centric
culture."
"I was new to the aviation industry when I started at Avidyne
two years ago, and before that I never thought about becoming a
pilot," said Patrick Herguth, Avidyne's COO. "Now I am
attending my second Oshkosh show as a private pilot. I am
proud and excited to be an active participant in general
aviation. Being a pilot gives me a personal connection to the
products we are building and to our mission of increasing the
utility of general aviation while making is simpler and safer."

Avidyne remains committed to supporting general aviation and its
employees in pursuing their flying ambitions. It is
critical for the industry to create new pilots and Avidyne's
mission of utility, simplicity and safety encourages the use of
personal aircraft for both business and pleasure.
