Two New Dynon Products For Experimental And LSA Aircraft

Dynon Avionics and Advanced Flight Systems announce two new avionics products for experimental and light sport aircraft. Dynon says their SkyView SE offers a streamlined and simplified experience for pilots of VFR aircraft.

The SkyView SE displays are made specifically for VFR aircraft and pilots who want the most intuitive flight and engine instruments on the market. The company reports they feature simple and clear displays, with almost no menus to navigate in flight. At the same time, they say, the SE retains modern, innovative Dynon EFIS capabilities like SkyView’s COM radio interface and 2-axis autopilot with single-touch controls.

Dynon says that without mapping capabilities, even the 7" SkyView SE display has a large, easy-to-read Primary Flight Display, including pilot-selectable six-pack "steam gauges." According to Dynon, the SkyView SE is the successor to Dynon’s D100 series products. They say the SE systems configured like their D100 series counterparts are similar in price. SkyView SE displays have the same dimensions and mounting requirements as existing SkyView 7” and 10” displays.

Robert Hamilton, Dynon’s President, says “Dynon expects SkyView SE to be popular with VFR-only experimental and light sport aircraft, where low weight and low cost are especially important. For aircraft in the US market, SkyView SE systems equipped with Dynon’s Mode S transponder and SV-GPS-2020 offer the lowest cost integrated glass panel system meeting FAA 2020 ADS-B Out requirements.”

SkyView SE is expected to start shipping in April 2016.

The new AF-5700 display combines the largest-in-class 12.1” screen with a minimized installation footprint. With its new ADVANCED Touch interface, the AF-5700 gives pilots the opportunity to install a large screen EFIS in an instrument panel that previously could not support one.

Rob Hickman, ADVANCED President, says “The AF-5700’s sleek form factor was designed to maximize space utilization, provide the largest amount of functional screen area possible, and minimize the panel space required. The large 12.1” screen allows for a larger display of information, more effective split-screen multi-tasking, and reduced information clutter.”

AF-5700 displays are expected to start shipping in April 2016.
