New Chinese Fighter Jet Bears Striking Resemblance To F-35

Aircraft Flown At Zhuhai International Airshow

China has publicly unveiled their latest jet fighter ... and it looks very familiar.

The U.S. Naval Institute said that the J-31 "is China’s latest crack at developing a modern so-called fifth-generation stealth fighter — equivalent in ability to Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor or F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter."

According to a report from Independent Journalism Review, the U.S. Naval Institute speculates that the J-31 was "designed using technology stolen from the Pentagon’s nearly $400 billion Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program."

The J-31s engines are being developed by Russia, and video of the aircraft shows long streaks of black smoke trailing from the aircraft ... which does not make for a very stealthy airplane. While it may not be battle-ready ... it does look very familiar.
