Aero-TV: We Find Bigfoot -- Found Aircraft’s (Really) Big Bird

Are You Ready To Fly Into The Bush??? Bigfoot IS!

In and amongst all the things we say and do to convince the world of the utility of today's aircraft, and the modern destinations they are expected to service, we sometimes forget how well some specially adapted aircraft do in servicing areas of the world that are ANYTHING but modern... or improved... or even paved.

Expedition Aircraft says 'Bigfoot' may be one of the toughest bushplane sin the world and if you look it over, you'd be hard pressed to argue. The 315 horsepower Bigfoot boasts a TakeOff weight of 3500 lbs, an empty weight of 2250 lbs., and a useful load of 1250 lbs... Bigfoot's Payload, with Max Fuel, is 662 lbs.

Bigfoot has a cruise speed of 156 ktas (at a Cruise Altitude of 8000'). It has a Max Range of 800 (nm) and a Max Endurance of 6.8 hours. The stall speed is 52 kcas. The aircraft needs 770 feet for its ground roll, and a total of 1270 feet to clear a 50' obstacle.

The Rate of climb is 1165 fpm. Bigfoot will clear a 50' obstacle to land in but 1270 feet, needing 575' for the ground roll.

But most of all, the bird screams "Bushplane" in no uncertain terms... join Aero-TV as we look this critter over!
